Calvary Robotics takes on the Tough Mudder

For a second year in a row a group of brave individuals from Calvary Robotics participated in a grueling event called the Tough Mudder. The Tough Mudder is an event that stretches across 10 miles and has over 20 intense obstacles to navigate through. Participants climb, crawl and run through a variety of hurdles such as; towering walls and pyramids, icy plunges, moving barriers, water pits, monkey bars, dangling electric wires and of course lots of mud.

This is no easy course to complete and we say congratulations to everyone that took part in the Tough Mudder.

This Year

This year's Western New York Tough Mudder was held at Kissing Bridge Ski Resort in Glenwood, New York on Saturday August 5 & 6, 2017. Notably this year the temperature was in the mid 50s and was overcast or raining. Clearly the cooler weather made conditions less than favorable.

More About Tough Mudder

The first Tough Mudder took place on On May 2nd, 2010, in Pennsylvania, with over 4,500 participants. It has since grown to be an international event with over half a million people taking part each year. On average a Tough Mudder has 10-15k participants. The event's obstacles change from year to year and from course to course. In addition to the Tough Mudder they have expanded to other versions such as Toughest Mudder (an 8 hour obstacle course) the World’s Toughest Mudder (a 24-hour obstacle course) and even Mini Mudder (a Mudder for Kids between the ages of 7 - 12)

To begin with, Calvary has been awarded System Partner Rookie of the Year from KUKA. The award was handed out at KUKA’s System Partner Summit 2017. This two day event took place in May 2017 in the sunshine state Florida.

Awards were given to KUKA Partners in three different categories. First was Rookie of the Year, which Calvary was awarded. Rookie of the Year, is given for the best performance for a new partner in 2016. Michael Marseglia, Director of Robotics, accepted the award on behalf of Calvary. During the acceptance speech Marseglia spoke about the outstanding execution of partnership that KUKA has made to Calvary. Also he recognized that the award should be shared with everyone that made it happen. Not only did this refer to everyone at Calvary, but to the people from KUKA. Marseglia said, with attention to the collaboration with KUKA, “You’ve made a big company like KUKA feel like a local distributor to us.” In addition, the two other awards given were Outstanding Growth and System Partner of the Year.

Finally, Calvary would like to thank KUKA for a wonderful event and for recognizing us for the award. All in all, we at Calvary look forward to future of our partnership with KUKA and what 2017 will bring.
